Hayes County Fair

The week of the first full weekend in August of each year is the Hayes County Fair. No frills about this fair, it is the excitement of riding and showing what you and your horse can do. There are shooting sports, a bike rodeo, and the pet show. The youth work hard all year training and grooming their sheep, pigs, and cattle for the big show to see who can win Grand Champion. We can’t forget our great exhibit hall full of 4-H projects. And you now there is always great food at a Fair. This Fair even has a pie baking contest for all age groups. On Friday night is a free BBQ sponsored by area businesses. The Fair closes with the livestock sale and a teen dance.
